President and CEO

Darla Edwards is President of Successful Innovations, an educational consulting company focused on strategic family and school partnerships.   She has over 15 years of experience in education as a teacher and principal.  Because of her expertise and knowledge in education, she was appointed by the Governor to serve on Virginia's Board of Education. In this capacity, she helped to develop policies and standards to support Virginia's schoolchildren. 

As an educational consultant, she has presented at state and national conferences providing educators with strategies and technical assistance to facilitate innovative outreach strategies and effective family and school partnerships.  She is the co-author of several publications which provide best practices to educators on meaningful tips to promote school improvement and family and school partnerships. 

Edwards is a passionate entrepreneur who has been recognized by the Association of Black Charities as the Women Entrepreneur of the Year.  In 2012, Successful Innovations was awarded Small Business of the Year by the US Chamber of Commerce.  

As an active member of the PTA, her role as a parentis what she considers to be her most rewarding experience.
